Acolytes and altar servers

The word acolyte means "follower" or "attendant." Acolytes are worship leaders and even though they usually don't have speaking assignments during the liturgy, theirs is a ministry of proclamation and celebration. At Holy Trinity, youth and adults, participate as acolytes and altar servers. Acolytes assist the priests in carrying out the sacraments of the Church. Youth can begin to serve as acolytes in the second grade and continue until they graduate from high school (or older).

Adults, college age and older, are welcome to serve as altar servers. Acolytes and altar servers perform various roles within the service from processing certain liturgical items such as crosses, torches, flags, banners, and Gospel book. Some are also servers assisting the priests in setting the table for Holy Communion and helping at the offertory. Training is required and provided prior to serving. Those with various commitment levels are welcomed.

Lector

A Lector is someone who is a representative of the congregation who reads appointed lessons during a worship service. Youth are encouraged to participate as lector from time to time. This person need not vest. Proper training and regular church attendance is required and provided for participation as a Lector. See a clergyman for direction to the appropriate leader.

Musicians/Singers

__ Lift Up Your Voices! __

The Worship Team/Choir is looking for singers and musicians of all ages and experience levels. This is an opportunity to make new friends, learn new musical skills, and participate in the worship in a very personal and meaningful way. No audition is required; anyone who likes to sing or play an instrument is welcome!

The Worship Team/Choir rehearses at 7:00 pm Tuesday evenings and provides music for the 10:00 service.

The Worship Team leads the congregational singing each Sunday. The choir performs for certain Feast days, mainly Christmas and Easter. The Worship Team/ Choir is delighted to have new members. If you are interested please let your voice be heard!

Ushers

A great opportunity for service and fellowship is available to you as an usher at Holy Trinity. Our ushers assist those attending services and provide security for the church buildings during those services. They collect the offering and make it secure, facilitate the flow of communicants to the altar rail during Communion and make sure the service books have visitor and prayer request cards.

Ushers are the greeters at Holy Trinity. Often, the first welcome a visitor has with Holy Trinity is from an usher as they arrive at the church for a service. Any adult member (college age or older) of the parish may serve as an usher. Training is provided. Twice a year, once in the Fall and once in the Spring.
